TICR Transport Industrial Commercial Refrigeration net zero refrigeration

An investigation into real energy use and greenhouse gas emissions from the transport, industrial and commercial refrigeration sectors in the UK. Our vision is to create a comprehensive data driven and whole systems approach to support decarbonisation strategy and policy within the sector.

Aims and outcomes

The outcomes of this work will provide a thorough understanding of refrigeration related energy usage and emissions in datacentres, food and drink manufacturing sites, and chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, retail, cold stores and transport refrigeration units.

It will provide a roadmap for emissions mitigation, and opportunities for innovation and best-practice. Outputs will include sector-specific guidance, training and a programme of events.

The project is being managed by a consortium of partners led by London South Bank University and funded through the Net Zero Innovation Portfolio (NZIP) by the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero.
